Advocate for Effective Agriculture and Energy Policies26, Washington, District of ColumbiaSheila Korth graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) in May 2008. At UNO, she served as president of the Scott Scholar Focus Group and was co-founder and co-president of the Scott Recycling Program on UNO’s south campus. She was also involved with Omicron Delta Kappa and served as the student representative on the Executive Steering Committee for the new Nebraska Student Information Systems project. She has volunteered as a tutor in Omaha and at the Douglas County Correctional Facility and for two mission/service trips to Jamaica and the Winnebago Indian Reservation in Nebraska. Her passion for effective agriculture, energy, and rural development policies emerged during the summer of 2006 when she attended the Bryce Harlow Institute for Business and Government, working for the National Corn Growers Association, and studying at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is a Harry Truman scholar and has also worked for USSTRATCOM’s Global Innovation and Strategy Center and the Sustainable Agriculture Coalition in Washington DC.
