Designing Healthier Built Environments
During my Bachelor of Architecture studies at Shahid Beheshti University (National University of Iran), I became involved in the field of Design Computing and Evidence-based Design. As such, I built on my academic study in Architecture by designing a spatial layout generating software, winning two design competitions and exploring the human – environment interactions, especially the spatial needs of people with sensory integration disorders. As a graduate student of Architecture (Design studies) at the University of Michigan, I am currently studying the cognitive and behavioral aspects of architectural and Urban design. I previously held a Graduate Student Research Assistantship position studying the spatial and social networks involved in organizational innovation at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning and I am currently a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan’s Center for Autism and Communications Disorder.

Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture
San Diego, California
The mission of the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture is to promote and advance knowledge that links neuroscience research to a growing understanding of human responses to the built environment.
The Academy benefits from the expanding body of research that has evolved within the neuroscience community in the last two decades, and the promise of even more in the coming century. Some observers have characterized what is happening in neuroscience as the most exciting frontier of human knowledge since the Renaissance. All humanity stands to benefit from this research in countless ways still to be determined. The profession of architecture has become a partner in developing the application of this knowledge base in order to increase its ability to be of service to society.

ACADIA
ACADIA was formed in the early 1980's for the purpose of facilitating communication and critical thinking regarding the use of computers in architecture, planning and building science. A particular focus is education and the software, hardware and pedagogy involved in education.
The organization is also committed to the research and development of computer aides that enhance design creativity, rather than simply production, and that aim at contributing to the construction of humane physical environments.
