Dr. Spero Theodorou is a highly regarded plastic surgeon that currently operates his own private practice, Theodorou Plastic Surgery, PC, in Manhattan, NY. Dr. Theodorou also takes hospital appointments at the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Lenox Hill Hospital. In addition, he is an Associate Attending at New Jersey’s Hackensack University Hospital.
Prior to Dr. Spero Theodorou’s career in the medical field, he attended college for 6 years at Athens College in Athens, Greece from 1983 to 1989. Soon after, he spent the next 6 years in Budapest, Hungary, at Semmelweis University of Medicine from 1989 to 1995.
Following his collegiate career, Dr. Spero Theodorou would embark on a near-decade journey of surgical training in the United States that would result in his success today. His training started in 1995 as an Orthodontic Assistant at the International Smile Center, in Athens, Greece. The following year, Dr. Theodorou was a research fellow for plastic and reconstructive surgery for the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Theodorou would spend the next 4 years of his life studying general surgery in New Jersey. Dr. Spero Theodorou studied in two locations in New Jersey. He went through his training at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, and the Hahneman University Affiliate, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. In 2001-2003, Dr. Spero Theodorou would return to Chicago and his plastic and reconstructive surgery training, but this time at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center at Rush University.
His final surgical training would then take place in New York, at NYU’s Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital through an aesthetic fellowship. Dr. Spero Theodorou is a co-founder of the Marine Assist program of the Marine Law Enforcement Foundation, which provides free plastic surgery and dental services to Marine Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
