Primarily investing in information and technology services companies, Steve Brotman is well respected by his peers and associates for his innovative business development strategies and his consummate professionalism. In charge of managing a $100 million venture fund, Steve Brotman has continually shown remarkable business savvy and intelligence in developing his portfolio companies into industry leaders, and he has been recognized for his work with a wide variety of commendations. A former finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Steve Brotman has been named to several lists of prominent business professionals, including Crain’s 2001 Tech 100, Crain’s Top 25 Players Shaping Silicon Valley, and Crain’s New York Business Rising Stars 40 Under 40. Currently serving on the boards of several companies, including Critical Mention, Knovel, and Managed Systems, among others, Steve Brotman is a trusted advisor to his many business partners. In the past, Steve Brotman has been a board member of DataSynapse, Medidata, UGO, and a number of other companies. Prior to beginning his celebrated business career, Steve Brotman was an accomplished scholar at both Duke University and Washington University. Receiving his undergraduate education at Duke, Steve Brotman earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. While at the school, Steve Brotman was also the Vice President of the Duke Student Government, a journalist for Duke’s student newspaper, and a member of the ATO fraternity. From here, Steve Brotman studied both law and business at Washington University, earning both his JD and MBA degrees with honors. In addition to his many business interests, Steve Brotman spends a great deal of time advancing the interests of the entrepreneurial community through his service on the boards of the MIT Enterprise Forum, as well as the Venture Investors Association of New York.
