Steven Abelowitz earned his medical degree at the Hebrew University, Hadassah Medical School, graduating at the top of his class. Steven Abelowitz continued his medical education by completing a pediatric internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, where he was awarded “Resident of the Year,” and multiple other commendations. Steven Abelowitz spent his early professional years rising through the medical hierarchy, and established Newport Children’s Medical Group, where he served as President and Medical Director for three years. Dr. Abelowitz then founded Coastal Kids, a premier pediatric medical group for the proactive treatment and care of children’s healthcare issues. While in medical school, Steven Abelowitz developed an interest in pediatrics. After completing his studies, Steven Abelowitz supplemented this initial academic curiosity during his residency, gaining advanced experience in pediatric healthcare and medicine, primary children’s healthcare, preventative care, nutrition, growth and development. Steven Abelowitz capitalized on his residency training to build a solid knowledge base in children’s healthcare, and respect from his peers. After residency training Steven Abelowitz joined the fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Orange County Medical Association, and became a member of the OC AAP Chapter. As Medical Director, President and CEO of Coastal Kids, Dr. Abelowitz was voted one of the “Top Doctors across America” by his peers, and was the first pediatrician to be voted “Doctor of the Month” by the staff at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. He has been nominated multiple times as Chair of the Pediatric Department at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and served as physician liaison to the newborn nursery. Dr Abelowitz has shared his expertise with nationally recognized parenting and family health publications, featured as a pediatric expert on many news media outlets, such as KABC-TV, consumer report, MSNBC, and the Dr Nancy show. Steven Abelowitz has given back to his local community by providing charitable donations to Adoption Guild, numerous preschool, elementary school, and high school donations in Orangewood.
