Over the course of his career, Dr. Steven Galper has enjoyed lengthy affiliations with the Tucson, Arizona community as an attorney and physician. He initially gained experience in the medical field as a Medical Corpsman with the United States Army in the early 1970s. Dr. Galper subsequently earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle. During his time as an undergraduate, he served as Medical Assistant at US Public Health Service Hospital. Dr. Steven Galper continued his studies from 1976 to 1978, earning an MBA with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor. He held positions as Tax Analyst with General Motors in Detroit and as Senior Tax Accountant with Ernst & Whitney in Tucson. From 1979 to 1982, Dr. Steven Galper worked toward a J.D. with a concentration in Taxation. Upon gaining admittance to the State Bar of Arizona, he established Galper & Associates, PC, a firm he led until 1997.

Dr. Steven Galper began his medical studies at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson in 1994, and he graduated four years later. From 1998 to 2004, he pursued a joint residency in neurology and psychiatry at the University’s College of Medicine, followed by a one-year pain fellowship with the College of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology. From 2006 to 2010, Dr. Steven Galper served as a Consulting Physician in Neurology, Psychiatry and Pain Management with Northwest Medical Center in Tucson. He also held a position as a Physician of Pain Management with Old Pueblo Pain Consultants from 2006 to 2007. Dr. Galper currently maintains four positions in the medical field.

Since late 2010, Dr. Steven Galper has served as Medical Director with Marana Health Center Behavioral Health Services in Marana, Arizona. He also maintains a private practice in Psychiatry and Pain Management at Independent Behavioral Health Associates. Dr. Steven Galper has additionally held responsibilities as Director of Mental Health with Pima County Adult Detention Complex in Tucson since 2009. Rounding out his list of professional duties is a role as Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and pain management specialist at the University of Arizona Pain Clinic. A regular invited speaker at the University of Arizona College of Medicine events, Dr. Steven Galper presented in 2010 on chronic pain management and on fibromyalgia pain management.
