About Student Works Painting:

Student Works Painting has emerged as one of North America’s leading painting companies over the past two decades. Student Works Painting provides homeowners with a thoroughly screened and trained student workforce that completes jobs at the highest levels of quality and professionalism. Student Works Painting assists students in gaining business experience as owner-operators, enabling them to earn money that goes towards paying university tuition, room and board, and textbook expenses.

Student Works Painting offers students a comprehensive support network, training them to run their own summer painting business effectively. Handling all necessary administrative tasks, Student Works Painting arranges to have payroll, accounting, and processing of government remittances taken care of. Student Works Painting also provides student contractors lines of credit and access to significant discounts from quality paint and equipment suppliers. Student Works provides all of its student contractors with liability insurance of up to $5 million and full workers’ compensation coverage. The company’s three-year materials and labor guarantee gives homeowners long-term confidence in hiring the dedicated professionals at Student Works Painting.

Student Works Painting jobs involve full preparation of the interior or exterior painting surface, including washing surfaces where necessary. Believing strongly in environmental stewardship, Student Works Painting owner-operators apply trisodium phosphate or other eco-friendly alternatives to harsh cleansers on dirt buildup and mildew areas. Following application of caulk, stucco, or metal primer, and removal of peeling paint as required, Student Works Painting painters survey the job site. All scraped and sanded areas are carefully spot-primed before the application of paint or stain. Student Works Painting professionals thoroughly clean the job site after each project, taking the homeowner through a final review of the completed project.

  • An Overview of the Motivation, Power, and Achievement Society, By Student Works Painting West Staff
Formed in 1971, the Motivation, Power, and Achievement Society (MPA) was initially known as the Vancouver Mental Patients Association Society. The purpose of the organization was to advocate for the mentally ill, their families, and their supporters by promoting personal empowerment through peer support and self-help. Since 2004, the organization has operated as the MPA Society, and continues to promote the well-being and dignity of those who deal with mental health issues.

The organization’s first year of operation saw the establishment of a supported housing program and community resource center. The center has operated in the same location in Kitsilano for more than 30 years, in western Vancouver, British Columbia. However, the organization has grown since its founding, and now consists of a number of advocacy and empowerment programs throughout the Vancouver area, including housing, recreation, advocacy, rehabilitation, and social justice. MPA is a non-profit organization. Donations are welcome, and 100 percent of all dollars go to serve those in need.

Thanks to the local Kiwanis Club and motivated students in summer employment with Student Works Painting West, one of the MPA properties recently benefited from a fresh coat of paint. Community service and “giving back” are critical aspects of the Student Works Painting West philosophy.
