She is interested in stylistic elements of composition and experimental lighting, as well as photos focusing on the world’s beauty. A passionate follower of nature photography, Susan Rydberg enjoys the works of John Shaw and Elizabeth Carmel. The first recipient of the North American Nature Photography Association’s (NANPA) Outstanding Photographer Award, John Shaw travels around the globe, capturing the wonders of nature. An admirer of the many different landscapes of the world, Susan Rydberg particularly enjoys John Shaw’s catalogue. His collection features images from a host of locations, including Japan, Mexico, Antarctica, and Ireland. His work appears in some of the leading travel publications, among them National Geographic, Audubon, Outdoor Photographer, National Wildlife, and Nature’s Best. In addition to contributing his art to publications, John Shaw leads a number of educational events designed to enhance participants’ photography skills. John Shaw also heads photo safaris, seminars, and field workshops in and out of the United States. In addition to John Shaw, Susan Rydberg deeply admires the aesthetic contributions of Elizabeth Carmel. A prominent figure in nature photography, Elizabeth Carmel is featured in noted magazines including People, Sierra Magazine, Tahoe Quarterly, Outdoor Photographer, and Hasselblad Forum. Her pieces appear in the California Museum of Photography and the Nevada Museum of Art. She is the author of two photography books, Brilliant Waters and Range of Light.
