Recent Lecturer in New TEstament Greek at UCLA/Classics Dept., and Visiting Professor at Loyola Marymount University, Susana Funsten holds a BA from Harvard University, an MSPH from UCLA, and a MATS from the Claremont School of Theology. In addition, Susana Funsten is a PhD candidate in Religion/New Testament Studies at Claremont Graduate University with a 2010 expected graduation date. Susana Funsten’s scholarly expertise focuses on the New Testament. Susana Funsten’s past teaching positions include a teaching fellowship at the Claremont School of Theology and adjunct or visiting professorships at Occidental College, Azusa Pacific University, and Loyola Marymount University. Susana Funsten’s dedication to education has helped her reach out to her community. At St. Brendan Catholic Church in Los Angeles, Susana Funsten is now teaching a 10-week course on the Gospel of Luke. In previous years, she has taught courses on the New Testament at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills, CA. At the moment, Susana Funsten lives in California with her husband, though she finds time to travel to her native El Salvador. A number of charitable causes in Central America receive Susana Funsten’s ongoing support, including La Casa de Mi Padre, Fundacion Herbert de Sola, and INCAE. Susana Funsten is also involved with UCLA Alumni Association, Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Southern California, Children’s Institute International, Childrens’ Hospital Los Angeles, UCLA Library, and the Hancock Park Homeowners’ Association Tree Committee.
