Svetlana Utkina has spent the last decade making strong contributions to the United Nations Secretariat in New York City. Svetlana Utkina first joined the organization as a Planning Officer at the United Nations Monitoring, Verification, and Inspection Commission; after eight years, she became a Programme Coordinator focused on interagency cooperation between projects in the fields of disarmament, biotechnology, and environmental protection. She also has a field experience as a UN planning officer in Iraq and Jordan. Demonstrating her commitment to helping others, Svetlana Utkina donates to the Toys for Tots Foundation and the UN Staff One Per Cent Development Fund for Haiti. Moreover, Svetlana Utkina has volunteered her time and energy through the Central Park Conservancy. In her leisure moments, Svetlana Utkina enjoys skiing, reading, traveling, and relaxing with family and friends. Svetlana Utkina engages her artistic sensibility through interior design. Svetlana Utkina’s extensive educational background includes her time at the Postgraduate School of Moscow State Research Center of Organic Chemistry and Technology, where she earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Knowledge Management Systems. Svetlana Utkina attended Moscow Technological University for her Master’s degree in Process Engineering and Environmental Studies. In addition, Svetlana Utkina received her certification in Program Management and Contract Negotiation from New York University in 2006, and she currently belongs to the National Defense Industry Association and the New York Academy of Science.
