A veteran of the logging industry, Ted Arkell owns and operates Dyer Logging Co. Ltd. as President of the British Columbia, Canada-headquartered company.Cambell, CanadaAs President of Dyer Logging Co. Ltd., Ted Arkell manages the strategic vision and daily operation of the forestry company. Based on northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Dyer Logging has operated as a logging business, first as a family-owned enterprise in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. In 1972, the Dyer family sold the business to Vancouver-based investors who operated the company until 1989 when Mr. Arkell and two employees purchased the operation. Since 1980, Mr. Arkell has owned Dyer Logging and holds responsibility for its present success. In his leadership capacity, Ted Arkell oversees the company’s 35 employees and subcontractors, some of whom represent the second generation in their families to work for Dyer Logging. Maintaining a strong commitment to worker safety, Mr. Arkell ensures that the company’s equipment receives regular maintenance and adheres to the highest standards of safety and quality, which is why Dyer Logging has achieved SAFE Certification from the British Columbia Forest Safety Council. In addition to its primary operations, Dyer Logging, under Ted Arkell’s direction, manages Chatham Point Timber Ltd. and possesses a stake in Union Bay Industries Ltd.
