Terrence F. Neven was born in Chicago, Illinois. His family moved to Southern California when Terry was just a teen. There, Terry Neven attended St. Anthony’s High School and went on to attend Southern California Community Bible College, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Theology. After receiving his degree, Terry went on to accept a position as Youth pastor at Community Christian Center in Sunland, California. Terry Neven later founded his own church, Sunland Household of Faith, which merged with another congregation, San Fernando Foursquare Church, in 1991. For over a decade, Terry Neven served as the senior pastor for these congregations. Today, Terry is perhaps best known for his contributions to the home school arena and the experience and insight Terry gained through his experience as pastor for both youth and adult congregations have been invaluable to his work in home school. His passion for education and love for the Lord are evident: During the 1980s, when he turned his attention to home school, he founded (and was the principal of) Sunland Christian School, and established California
Home Educators Legal Defense, which—to this day—continues to provide valuable and necessary homeschool legal defense to homeschooling families throughout the state of California. For eight years, Terry hosted and produced a radio program called “Educating Our Children.” He offers consulting services to private schools and home school programs. Sunland Christian School graduates have gone to prestigious universities including Harvard and the University of Southern California, to name just a few.

In his free time, Terry Neven is an avid reader. He himself is a writer, and has seen work published in numerous forums. Terry enjoys camping, watching movies, playing basketball with his sons, and being a grandfather. He also enjoys jogging and table tennis.
