Terry Tomsick holds a number of positions in the Colorado legal system.Denver, ColoradoAttorney Terry Tomsick possesses extensive experience in the fields of law and bioethics. She began teaching in 1980, following the completion of her Juris Doctor, and served at the Denver Paralegal Institute and the University of Health Sciences Antigua, School of Medicine. Terry Tomsick acted as guest lecturer at the Arapahoe Community College, the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the Colorado Bankruptcy Bar, and the Aurora Municipal Court. Additionally, she functioned as Mock Trial Consultant at the Given Institute of the University of Colorado’s Genetics and Ethics Conference. Ms. Tomsick has authored papers on both law and bioethics, including “Starson v. Swayze: Psychiatric Ethics Run Amok” and “Joint Canadian and American Code of Clinical Bioethics and Responsibility.” Terry Tomsick also wrote “Morality: Explored by Parrhesia” and “Complementary and Alternative Medicine versus Randomized Clinical Trials: A Truce?” Terry Tomsick participates in a host of community activities and sits on the Board of Directors for the Kent Denver Alumni Association, the Geneva Glen Camp, and the Rocky Mountain Stanford Association. Ms. Tomsick actively supports The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and maintains interest in historic preservation, which she explores as a member of Colorado Preservation, Inc., and Denver’s Old House Society. Terry Tomsick’s professional memberships include the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, the Denver Bar Association, the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, and the Colorado Bar Association. In addition, Ms. Tomsick belongs to the Minoru Yasui American Inn of Court, an organization consisting of lawyers, judges, law professors, and students dedicated to improving ethics, skills, and professionalism in the field of law. Presently, Terry Tomsick serves as both a Pro-Tem Municipal Judge for Central City and a Denver County Court Magistrate. In her private practice, which earned her an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, Ms. Tomsick represents psychiatric patients as court-appointed Counsel for the Denver District Court Probate Division. From 1980 to 2004, Terry Tomsick concentrated on representing other attorneys in a wide range of proceedings, including suspensions, disbarments, grievances, disciplinary resolutions, and acknowledgements of responsibility for misconduct. Prior to opening her own practice, Terry Tomsick served the San Francisco law firms Severson & Werson as an Associate Attorney in litigation and labor law and Corbett, Kane, Berk & Barton as an Associate Attorney in management labor law.
