Theanna Zika serves as President of Heavenly Helpers Senior Home Care, a home care service operating out of St. Louis, Missouri.Fenton, MissouriHome care professional Theanna Zika currently is President of Heavenly Helpers Senior Care, a non-medical homecare agency for the elderly. Heavenly Helpers provides non-medical home assistance and companionship to not only the elderly, but also for those who are disabled and those who might be recovering from any type of surgery or illness. Theanna Zika gave up her career as a dental hygienist in September 2004 to start Heavenly Helpers Senior Care. With only $5,000, a desk and a phone, Ms. Zika started her home care agency. Since then, Theanna Zika has expanded her business to an anticipated $1 million in annual gross revenue for 2009. Heavenly Helpers currently employs 62 caregivers and 43 clients. The company has earned a perfect grade “A” with the Better Business Bureau since Heavenly Helpers Senior Care joined in 2006 and has had no complaints after serving over 300 families! A creative entrepreneur, Theanna Zika began her business career in 1999, after practicing as a dental hygienist throughout St. Louis. Theanna had the idea to start a temporary hygiene service and provide hygiene services to a dental office when one of their regular hygienists could not be there. Within four years, Theanna Zika had built a working relationship with numerous area dentists, who regularly utilized her services. Dentists appreciated Theanna Zika’s professional manner and the familiarity of a regular temp hygienist. By 2003, her client list consisted of more than 50 dental offices. Theanna had now been “bitten by the entrepreneurial bug” and would never again revert back to working for someone else… Theanna Zika attended the University of Central Arkansas as a premed student. Her outstanding high school GPA and ACT scores garnered Theanna Zika an academic scholarship. Along with excellence in academics, Theanna was All District and All Conference in basketball. She was also one of the top mile runners in Track in the state of Arkansas as a 14 year old. She was allowed to compete in the State Track Meet by Special Invitation only and won the Bronze medal in the mile run. Ms. Zika later transferred to the University of Oklahoma, where she continued to take premed courses. After completing the necessary work, Theanna Zika applied to the highly prestigious and competitive Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Out of 200 persons that applied, she was picked as one of 50 due to grade point average, professional references and a personal essay. The 50 finalists then underwent a rigorous question and answer session with the OU Dental Faculty Board to compete for one of 16 openings in the hygiene program. Theanna Zika earned a spot and was proud to graduate among the only 14 who ultimately finished the intense program. Theanna Zika graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She passed written and clinical exams with both the National Dental Board and Oklahoma Board of Dentistry, becoming a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist. Currently, Theanna Zika applies her professional dedication to her position with Heavenly Helpers Senior Care. Ms. Zika focuses on analyzing advertising methods, conducting performance evaluations, and managing the franchise’s financial matters. An involved business owner, Theanna Zika guides and motivates her office staff and remains in contact with her clients. Ms. Zika is fond of dropping in to chat with clients and caregivers to let them know she is appreciative of them. Ms. Zika is also very excited about the recent work she has done to improve Heavenly Helpers’ presence on the Internet, as well improve its ability to come up regularly in the search results when home care is searched for online. Ms Zika is proud to belong to the Missouri Venture Forum, Vistage International, Yellow Tie Networking, and the Kirkwood DesPeres Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, Theanna Zika was written up in an article in The St. Louis Women’s Business Journal. Also, as recently as November of 2009, Ms. Zika was proud to be featured in the Java Journal newspaper in a piece about “Women Entrepreneurs.” Outside of her professional duties, Theanna Zika is a dedicated member of numerous charities. She regularly donates to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, as well as to environmental organizations like the Environmental Defense Fund, St. Jude’s, the National Wildlife Federation, and the World Wildlife Fund.
