Dr. Timothy Rosio has earned many distinctions over his long and impressive career. In 2003, Dr. Rosio was recognized by President Bush and the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation for his dedication to volunteer service. Dr. Rosio has served not only his own community and country with distinction, but he has worked to spread healthcare to disadvantaged parts of the world through volunteering and education programs. Through the educational programs he develops, Dr. Rosio is able to educate the public about skin cancer and other dermatological dangers. Dr. Rosio routinely donates his time and services by offering free skin cancer screenings, as well as skin cancer literature and sunscreen and lip balm samples.

The American Academy of Dermatology recently recognized Dr. Rosio’s work by awarding him the Leadership Circle for Volunteerism, and this year Dr. Rosio was a participant in the “Skin Cancer Takes Friends” Campaign. Additionally, Dr. Rosio has worked closely for a need-based scholarship fund to aid children whose family educational fund resources were depleted by breast cancer. Dr. Tim Rosio is a graduate of the University of Arizona (1976) and the University of Arizona College of Medicine (1979).

As an undergraduate, Timothy Rosio studied Biological Sciences on a pre-medical track, and he received his Bachelor of Science diploma with High Distinction. Timothy was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-medical honorary society, Phi Beta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi. At the graduate level, Rosio joined Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical school honorary fraternity comprised of the top 5-10% of his class. Receiving a Preceptorship in Anesthesiology in 1979, Dr. Rosio relocated to San Diego’s Mercy Hospital and later had the chance to study Dermatology at The London Institute of Dermatology and St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London, England.
