Shareholder at the Litigation Practice Group of Akerman Senterfitt

In 1981, Todd Pittenger was awarded an academic scholarship and enrolled in Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. His academic record at the institution included a semester abroad and University of Sydney in Australia, and garnered him numerous accolades, including admittance into Omicron Delta Kappa and Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. When Todd Pittenger graduated cum laude in 1985, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, with honors in his major field. Todd was also a member and officer of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Following graduation in 1985, Todd Pittenger became a student at the University of North Carolina School of Law and continued with his academic success. Todd Pittenger was awarded membership and First Invitational Team status on the Holdnerness Moot Court Bench during his second year in law school, and his team won the Best Brief Award while competing at the Sutherland Cup Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. Todd Pittenger graduated in 1988 and received admittance to the Florida State Bar the same year. On February 20, 2012 T. Todd Pittenger joined the Litigation Practice Group as a shareholder in the Orlando office of Akerman Senterfitt. Todd joined Akerman after 23 years with Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., in Orlando, where he had been a shareholder since 1995. Todd headed up the Complex Litigation Team at Lowndes since 2002. Throughout his 22 years of practicing law, Todd Pittenger earned recognition from his peers on numerous occasions. His accomplishments include maintaining an AV Rating from Martindale Hubbell since 1998, an indication of the highest level of legal professionalism. Todd Pittenger was also included in The Best Lawyers in America from 2008 to 2010, Florida Trend magazine’s “Florida Legal Elite,” “Orlando’s Best Lawyers” in Orlando Magazine from 2008 to 2010, and in Florida Super Lawyers from 2006 to 2010. Todd Pittenger served two years as 11th Circuit Vice President in the national Federal Bar Association, and two years as President of the Orlando Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Todd also chaired the Federal Judicial Relations Committee and served on the Bench and Bar Committee for the Middle District of Florida. Since 2005, Todd has been Board Certified in Business Litigation by the Florida Bar. Todd is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America Trial Lawyer Honor Society.
