Tom began working life as a ship broker in London in 2002. After a particularly bad experience with his local courier company he founded eCourier.co.uk, the award-winning online courier business in 2003. Serving as CEO, Tom oversaw the Company’s growth to £7.5m turnover & 250 staff and raised £8m in equity funding (VC & Angel) to support the future development of the business. With a professional management team in place, Tom left eCourier.co.uk in 2008 to found Shutl.co.uk. Shutl.co.uk is a courier aggregator that enables online and offline retailers to provide their customers with immediate delivery of their purchases. Tom also serves as an advisor to several startups. In 2007, Tom was named “Top Gun” by Growing Business magazine and eCourier.co.uk, “London’s Most Inspirational Business” by the Evening Standard. Outside of work Tom is a keen skier and poker player and serves as a trustee of Foundationstone- a charitable trust which provides seed donations to early-stage charities.
