Trevor Katende is a Corporate Associate with well-known law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP & Affiliates in Palo Alto, California. In addition to having several years’ legal experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, capital markets, and regulatory compliance law, Trevor Katende participates as a member of several associations, as well as The State Bar of California. He has also been a volunteer for numerous Boston- and Kenya-based children’s programs.

In 2003, Trevor Katende graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor’s degree in Government. While at Harvard, he earned dean’s list honors every semester and graduated cum laude. He received a Harvard College Scholarship and an African-American National Achievement Scholarship multiple years. Subsequently, Trevor Katende studied law at Stanford University. He received his Juris Doctor in 2006 and was a member of the Black Law Students Association. He also appeared as a panelist to discuss “Careers in Entertainment and Sports Law” at the school in 2004. During law school, Mr. Katende interned with the National Football League, where he drafted, reviewed, and revised legal agreements, orders, and contracts. He also assisted the NFL during a pending litigation’s discovery phase.

Trevor Katende first worked for Skadden as a Summer Associate in 2005. He became a full-time associate in October 2006 and began working on a variety of initiatives for the firm’s corporate clientele. Trevor Katende has served as the lead associate on numerous mergers and acquisitions transactions. He also negotiates and drafts a variety of agreements and filings, advises clients on financing strategies, and provides legal opinions and advice on U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules and regulations. He also attends meetings of company boards, stockholders, and special matters, where he acts as secretary.

In his spare time, Trevor Katende has spent many hours working with children in need. While an undergraduate, he tutored children living in Boston’s inner city. Previously, he volunteered with New Life Home Trust, an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya. He also supports Teach With Africa and TeachAIDS.
