A physician and oncologist with nearly 20 years of experience in medicine, Dr. Veshana Ramiah brings an uncommon level of professionalism and excellence to her field.
With a strong track record in medicine spanning three continents, Dr. Veshana Ramiah promotes the highest level of care, compassion, and professionalism in the field of oncology. A resident of Durham, North Carolina, Dr. Veshana Ramiah received her specialty certification in Internal Medicine in October 2003 and maintains a license to practice medicine in North Carolina. Affiliated with a wide range of noted medical organizations, Dr. Veshana Ramiah has held numerous professional associations over the course of her career. Since 2000, Dr. Veshana Ramiah has been a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians and joined both the American Society of Hematology and the International Society of Hemostasis and Thrombosis in 2005. Most recently, Dr. Veshana Ramiah earned membership to the American Society of Clinical Oncology. An academic researcher as well as a licensed physician, Dr. Veshana Ramiah’s work has been featured in a variety of peer-reviewed journals. In 1999, Dr. Veshana Ramiah appeared alongside several colleagues in the British Journal of Haematology for studies concerning the treatment of elderly patients with IgG myeloma and also earned publication in the journals Bone Marrow Transplantation and Leukemia & Lymphoma for additional research on myeloma. Dr. Veshana Ramiah’s “Clinical endpoints for Drug Development in Prostate Cancer” was published in a 2008 edition of Current Opinion in Urology. Faculty member of GU Oncology at the Duke University Medical Center from November 2007 to March 2009, Dr. Veshana Ramiah came to her position after a successful fellowship in hematology and oncology. During this period, Dr. Veshana Ramiah won the Southern Society for Clinical Investigator Award, the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Mentored Research Award, and the American Society of Hematology Clinical Research Training Award. Dr. Veshana Ramiah completed residencies in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and post-graduate training in hematology and oncology in the U.S. Dr. Veshana Ramiah holds a medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School. Dr. Veshana Ramiah is board certified in internal medicine and oncology.
