Victoria Welch is a freelance arts journalist based in Boston, Massachusetts, who has been regularly working in print and online media since 2003. Her byline has appeared in the Burlington Free Press (where she worked as a staff writer, blogger, and occasional photographer), Bostonist.com (arts & entertainment and sports contributing writer), and the Boston Phoenix (freelance music writer). Her work has been noted by the Vermont Press Association with its annual Rookie of the Year Award in 2006 and arts journalism accolades in 2003, and she was one of two official field bloggers for the 2006 Austin City Limits Musical Festival website. A 2002 graduate of Saint Michael’s College with a B.A. in Journalism (with studies also focused on theatre), Victoria studied arts journalism both at the 2002 O’Neill Critics Institute (Waterford, Conn.) and the 2007 USC/NEA Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater (Los Angeles, Ca.).
