Director of Internal Medicine and Osteoporosis - Joint Pain Center of New YorkNew York, New YorkOver the course of his career, Dr. William Boxer has gained a reputation for providing patients with skillful, innovative, and compassionate care. Dr. Boxer remains highly skilled in performing joint injections, pulmonary function tests, nerve conduction studies, hearing tests, and home sleep studies for the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. He also holds expertise in interpreting cardiac halter monitors. In his current role as Director of Internal Medicine and Osteoporosis for the Joint Pain Center of New York, Dr. William Boxer oversees the management of all infusible medicines at the practice. Since joining Dr. Jay Adlersberg at the Joint Pain Center in 2000, Dr. William Boxer has ensured a high quality of care for his patients by personally supervising several thousand infusions performed at the facility to date. He also provides his patients with expertise in internal medicine, including annual physicals, and the management and treatment of thyroid problems, asthma, and allergies, as well as heart failure and kidney problems. In addition to his practice at the Joint Pain Center of New York, he serves as an Attending Physician at Beth Israel Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital, where he also serves as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine and remains heavily involved in educating medical students and resident physicians. Prior to his professional pursuits, Dr. William Boxer was educated at Cornell University and Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. In 1997, he received his M.D. from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, where he graduated in the top 25% of his class and was recognized for his innovative research in techniques for the assessment of heart muscle damage that have become the standard of care in the evaluation of suspected heart attacks. After receiving his M.D., he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center, where he further distinguished himself by scoring in the top 15% of residents nationwide on the Internal Medicine In-Training Examination.
