Besides being an experienced firefighter, Zachary Plottel is a part of several successful business endeavors around Butte County, California. Mr. Plottel is currently a Project Manager at Scardina Builders, Inc. and Director of Operations at Harris & Plottel, LLP, in Chico, California, as well as the Owner of Plottel Property Management.

Zachary Plottel has been a Fire Apparatus Engineer and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for the City of Chico Fire Department for over 10 years. As a firefighter for the Chico Fire Department, Zachary Plottel routinely engages in emergency operations to perform his duty to protect the public. Beyond responding to fires, as an EMT, Mr. Plottel is called to help with medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, hazardous material incidents, and other rescue situations. Furthermore, Mr. Plottel has also worked with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). Fighting wildfires as a Fire Apparatus Engineer, Mr. Plottel served with CAL FIRE for four years during and after college.

Zachary Plottel earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from California State University, Chico, in 1999 while also studying Spanish and serving as a distinguished delegate of the National Model United Nations. Prior to this, Mr. Plottel had earned both his Associate of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science and his Associate of Science in Fire Technology at Butte College in Oroville, California. When not working, Zachary Plottel enjoys cooking and outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, skiing, riding motorcycles, and various board sports.
